So what are you doing Jan. 24?
We’re kicking off the 100th anniversary of the American Welding Society with a tour of Kapco Metal Stamping, joining our friends in the AWS Milwaukee Section to see the inner workings of this prominent local fabricator.
Kapco fabricates weldments for a diverse range of industries. Founded in 1972, it has a strong focus on metal stamping and welding for OEM parts.
Our own Al Sanders, Vice-President of Sales, is a board member of the AWS Milwaukee Section. Chapter members toured Max Weiss Company in September 2017.
This tour should be tremendously interesting. Kapco is a state-of-the-art operation, with more than 20 robotic welding cells and 30 manual welding cells. This capacity helps it fill orders sometimes numbering in the millions of pieces. Kapco offers MIG and TIG welding to fit all AWS standard requirements.
Kapco is a big operation, with five locations in Grafton alone. The tour will be in one of them: the Weld Building, 1150 Cheyenne Ave.
Here are additional details of this big event:
SCHEDULE: Check-in starts at 5 p.m. Plant tour at 5:30 p.m. Dinner and presentation at 6:30 p.m.
COST: AWS member or guest, $20; students, $15. Cost increases $5 after Jan. 21. Register at http://sections.aws.org/milwaukee/.
We hope you’ll join us on what promises to be a highly educational tour. Feel free to contact Al with any questions at asanders@maxweiss.com.
You can keep up with the AWS Milwaukee Section on Facebook. But wouldn’t you rather experience the camaraderie of your fellow metal craftsmen (and craftswomen) in person? We promise it’s a friendly group – and hope you’ll take us up on the invitation.
