Typically, the thicker a metal is, the more difficult it is to bend in Five Points.
Not so with pipe rolling or round tube bending – at least, if you hope to preserve the shape of a pipe or tube.
Metal pipe is hollow. One error while bending, and … poof! The pipe crushes.
Thicker pipe and tube wall are stronger, so don’t crush as easily. In other words, successfully bending pipe or tube is eased by thicker steel, unlike most other bending and rolling.
Still, round tube bending is an exceptional challenge, regardless of material thickness. Controlling distortion requires expert control and precision. A pipe’s natural predisposition is to bend into an egg or oval shape … if not crush outright.
Using dies is a recommended approach. The size of the die depends on a pipe’s outside diameter. Pipes come in a LOT of different diameters.
Being outstandingly literate in round tube bending, Max Weiss Company has an extensive library of pipe and tubing dies. In the hands of our metal bending experts, Max Weiss Company can meet all your pipe rolling or bending needs in Five Points.
Max Weiss Company bends 1” to 24” pipe and tubing, both schedule 40 and 80. Our pipe and round tube bending know-how covers, for example, 1-1/4” SCH 40 Pipe Gr. A53 Rolled, to 20” SCH 40 Pipe Gr. A53 Rolled, to 10” SCH 80 Pipe Gr. A53 Rolled, to 16” SCH 40 Gr. A53 BLK Rolled, to 1” SCH 80 Gr. A53 BLK Rolled, to 16” SCH. 20 Pipe GR. A120.
More piping? Sure thing: 16” SCH. 40 Pipe GR. A53, or 16” SCH. 30 Pipe GR. API5-L, or 16” SCH. 140 Pipe GR. API5-L, or 18” SCH. 40 Pipe GR. A53, or 18” SCH. 80 Pipe GR. API5-L.
It doesn’t stop there in Five Points. Max Weiss Company is unmatched in its pipe-bending capabilities: 20” SCH. 30 Pipe GR. A53, or 20” SCH. 80 Pipe GR. A53, or 20” SCH. 20 Pipe GR. API5-L, or 22” SCH. 160 Pipe GR. A120, or 22” SCH. 60 Pipe GR. A106.
More pipe bending sizes … then onto tube bending: 24” SCH. 160 Pipe GR. A120, or 24” SCH. 100 Pipe GR. A53, or 24” SCH. 140 Pipe GR. A106.
Max Weiss Company’s pipe bending prowess is matched only by its tube bending capabilities:
1.25” O.D.-H.S.R. x .091 Wall A500 GR. B., or 1.5” O.D.-H.S.R. x .083 Wall A500 GR. B., or 2.375” O.D.-H.S.R. x .083 Wall A500 GR. B. or 2.5” O.D.-H.S.R. x .071 Wall A500 GR. B., or 5” O.D.-H.S.R. x .375 Wall A500 GR. B..
Whatever the tube size, Max Weiss Company will bend it to ultimate perfection: 14” O.D.-H.S.R. x .375 Wall A500 GR. B., or 1.66” O.D.-H.S.R. x .140 Wall A513 GR. B., or 1.75” O.D.-H.S.R. x .071 Wall A513 GR. B., or 2.75” O.D.-H.S.R. x .083 Wall A513 GR. B. or 2” O.D.-H.S.R. x .203 Wall A513 GR. B
Yes, even more sizes in Max Weiss Company’s tube bending repertoire: 6” O.D.-H.S.R. x .083 Wall A500 GR. B., or 7” O.D.-H.S.R. x .10 Wall A500 GR. B., or 10” O.D.-H.S.R. x .1875 Wall A500 GR. B., or 14” O.D.-H.S.R. x .10 Wall A500 GR. B., or 16” O.D.-H.S.R. x .1875 Wall A500 GR. B.
Bent metal tubing is a common element in signs, lighting structures, canopies and trusses in Five Points. Industry finds lots of uses in flow-through structures for air, grains and liquids. A near-endless number of OEM applications include bent piping.
Metal bending, rolling and fabrication depends heavily on finesse and touch. Different rules apply to different metals.
